The contestants competed in interview, swimsuit/fitness, talent and evening wear.  Miss Bailey Johnson was crowned the new 2013 Miss Davis County. Bailey is from Syracuse, Utah where she attends Weber State University. Her major is Dance Education, which is also her platform. Good bye from Ellie Tucker

Hi all! There is so much I have to say about this incredible organization and this whirlwind of a wonderful year that it’s hard to even know where to begin! I began this journey to the Miss Davis County title with the inspiration of my HopeKids, children with life threatening illnesses. The HopeKids Organization brings hope to these children along with a will to fight by filling their calendars with fun activities so they always have something to look forward to. After working as co-chairman and then chairman of the HopeKids Princess Party I knew something had to be done to raise awareness for the organization. I thought a crown aught to do the trick and here I am now. Davis County is my home and I can’t think of a better way I could have spent this last year than serving my friends and neighbors in Davis County. The doors opened and service opportunities provided by this title were truly life changing.  While I may be giving up the crown tonight, the lessons I have learned and the incredible people I have met I will cherish and carry with me for a lifetime. I would like to give special thanks to the Davis County Commissioners for their help and support, the Miss Utah Organization for awarding me the honor of the Sadie Huish Memorial Scholarship and Davis County for their continued support. Thank you to my Mom and my Dad. You guys have been with me through everything; the good days, the not so good days, and every single harebrained idea.  There are not words to thank you enough! To my second family thank you for bringing so many smiles to my face and a special thank you to my Little Luck Charm! A thanks has to go out to the best brother ever, Jacob, partly because I promised I’d publicly thank him but mostly because without his politics prep before every interview I wouldn’t be here today. Colton, thank you for being my rock and inspiring me to keep fighting and to always “keep smiling”. Thank you to the HopeKids Organization for allowing me to be so involved with them this year! Every single one of you are my heroes!! And last but not least, a huge thank you to Millie Flamm. Your brave fight and sweet smile inspired so many. You will be sorely missed.

Good Bye from Alex Salimbene

The experiences I’ve had this past year have been once-in-a-lifetime opportunities that I am beyond proud to have been a part of. From day one in my basketball shorts to now in my little black dress, I owe this community a huge thank you. It has been such an honor to have been able to serve with you and represent Davis County. This sash looks even better with every bit of dirt the service has put on it!

First, I love to thank my sponsors who have given me mounds of their time and support. Their love and interest in what I do is so much appreciated. Michael Murphy and Murphy’s Guitars, you have cheered me on every step of the way and helped in fostering my platform and love of music! Thank you Mrs. Cavenaugh’s Chocolates for loving me just enough to still fit into my dresses. Classy Chassis, Madeleine L’Amour, and Ypsilon, you have always made me feel beautiful. Our amazing Davis County commissioners and event staff all deserve a huge thank you as well because none of this would have been possible without them!

I’d like to thank Ellie and the Hope Kids for allowing me to be a part of their lives. You have touched my heart so deeply and I am truly inspired by the things you have accomplished. My prayers will always be with you. My pageant director Steffani and photographer Melissa deserve novels of love and thank you’s. Words will never be able to express how much both of you have changed my life. I love and look up to you and hope to continue all of our exciting adventures!

To my grandmother and Aunt Shea, thank you for helping me look my best at every appearance. My family and friends have been loving, patient helpers behind the scenes, making this all possible. I love and thank you all, especially my little sisters, Kennedy, Izzy, and Lauren,  who have been my biggest fans! I know they walk around the house in my heels & crown when I’m not home. I can’t wait to see you in these dresses someday! Finally, I’d like to recognize my amazing mother. Every step of the way, she has been my support and I know that all of my successes are because of her. I love you mom. These are your successes too.

As my tears fall onto this stage for the final time as Miss Davis County’s Outstanding Teen, I’d like to wish the next young woman the best of luck. This will change your life and you will grow in ways you never imagined! I wouldn’t change a thing from the past year. Being Miss Davis County’s Outstanding Teen will forever be a part of me. I love you all.
