We just got confirmation that Miss Davis County Ellie Tucker and Miss Davis County Outstanding Teen Alex Salimbene as well as their director Steffani King (me) will be on the ABC 4 morning show at 6:30am!!! be sure to tune in!!

Count down

So the count down to the pageant has started! In five days from today we will crown a new Miss Davis County and Miss Davis County Outstanding Teen.  So in honor of Ellie Tucker and Alex Salimbene I will post my top five favorite moments with the two of them. I have watched these young women grow and accomplish so much and I am so proud of them.
Today's photo comes from the Davis County Fair, where we had a special photo booth donated by Dustin Izzat to help with a fundraiser for the pageant. We spent all weekend together laughing, playing and growing stronger as a sisterhood. I have loved every minute of it!

Angel of Davis County Award

With great love in our heart we are proud to announce the recipient of the 2013 Miss Davis County Award.   Claire Kenyon:

Claire was a student at Central Jr. High and Westridge High School. She was an avid cheerleader and dancer for 9 years. She was the light of everyone who knew her. She danced at the lighbox dance studio's and was a friend to everyone.  On June 27 Claire was killed in a tragic accident on I-15 at the tender age of 16.  She is survived by her twin sister and parents. During the pageant we will take a moment to honor her life and her memory.

I thought of all the yesterdays the good ones and the bad. I thought of all the love we shared, and all the fun we had. If I could relive yesterday, just even for a while, I'd say goodbye and kiss you and maybe see you smile. But then I fully realized that this could never be, for emptiness and memories would take the place of me. And when I thought of worldly things, I might miss come tomorrow, I thought of you and when I did my heart was filled with sorrow. When I walked through heavens gates I felt so much at home. When God looked down and smiled at me from his great golden throne He said, "This is eternity and all I've promised you” Today your life on earth has passed, but here life starts anew. I promise no tomorrow, But today will always last, And since each day is the same There's no longing for the past. You have been so faithful, So trusting and so true. Though there were times you did some things you knew you shouldn't do. You have been forgiven and now at last you're free. So won't you come and take my hand and share my life with me? So when tomorrow starts without me don't think we're far apart, for every time you think of me, I'm right here in your heart.”

Letter from the director

My dear contestants,
As we round this last week before the pageant I want each of you take time and meditate, center and remember why you are in this pageant. Always remember the reason and let it empower you. I have so enjoyed these last few months getting to know each of you, reading your words and seeing the amazing spirit that each of you bring. There is no workshop this weekend so I wont see you but know that my thoughts are with you and I will always carry our friendship with me where ever I go. The pageant is next friday August 1st. If I had it my way I would have all of you as my title holders and spend the year as one giant party, but this cant be the case. Only one teen and one miss will be able to continue the journey with me. I am so proud of all you and for everything that you have been able to accomplish. This summer has been amazing with you and I know that if you are not chosen by the judges, I know in my heart that you will continue on in your journey and accomplish many a great things. I love you all and am looking forward to seeing you at dress rehearsal.

Opening Number

I got a lot of questions about what to wear for opening number: The opening number you need to wear white, black and sparkle! You get to choose what you want it to be like pants, skirt or dress it's up to you to let your personality shine. You can wear whatever color of shoes you want. This is you so be you! just please please make sure that it covers what it needs to cover, that you can dance in the shoes and that the outfit allows you to move and preform the opening number.

Tickets!

Ok its time!!
Tickets can now be purchased from contestants!! and for only $5.00!! Contestants can only sell the tickets from the 13th to the 20th of July so make sure that who ever wants one gets one. Then the only place you can pick up tickets will be at the door and online for $10

Also please note that we will be selling programs at the door for $1.00
and we will also be selling roses and glow sticks at the door as well! This is going to be a fantastic night!

Hello my beautiful contestants!! If you have music that you need to turn in for your talent the ONLY person that you can turn it into is none other then Mike the Tech Guy!! You need to write your name and your contestant number on the cd or whatever way you are turning in music to him and get it to him by the 20th. Not after the 20th, not late on the 20th but BEFORE the 20th. If he doesnt have the music by then.... no good will come of it.

The time is ticking down and I want to make sure that everyone has everything in! I am also here to help in any way possible. If you have any questions about anything please ask me. The only stupid question is the one not asked! Take advantage of everything ladies, the more you work on interview, talent and walking the more polished you will be on stage. Mock Interviews

Anyone interested in mock interviews - We are having mock interviews this Thursday evening at the church house on 1500 south and 500 east in Bountiful. Here are the times you can sign up for 7:30, 7:50, 8:10, 8:30, 8:50, 9:10. If we have more interested, we can add more times. Please dress in appropriate interview attire and bring your fact sheet. We will be having a few of these before the pageant. Take advantage of the practice! The more prepared you are, the better you'll perform on Pageant day! Message Cait Schmidt to sign up for a time. Winning your contestant number

At one of the earlier workshops we told everyone that the girl that earned the most money besides the $200 from their sponsors could win the opportunity to pick their contestant number for the pageant. I need to know who is trying to do that, if no one is then we will be picking numbers this Saturday at the pageant! text, call or email me to let me know!

Work Shops!

we have two choreography workshops scheduled for July 13th and June 20th. These are a must attend! These workshops will help you have confidence galore on stage. The location for the workshops are at the Lightbox Dance Studio at

450 N Flint St  Kaysville, UT 84037

July 13  from 10 am to 1:00 pm

July 20 from  9am to 12 am

Please note that this studio just got their floors refinished and have asked us not to wear our heels on the floors. So please come in shoes that wont leave marks and dont have heels. We can practice with heels at our dress rehearsal on August 1 at the Kaysville Fruit heights county building located at 910 S. Mountain Rd. Fruit Heights City.

Just ask!

Ladies,
Since there is no workshop over this holiday weekend I want you to take the time to work on your platform statement and your resume. This is what the judges will read before they even meet you. This will hold all the information that you want the judge to know about you that wont be able to get asked in interview questions due to time restraints.
You have a committee at your dispel that will help you with any of your paperwork and mock interviews, all you need to do is ask! Practice your talent! I need your talent introduction as well. There are all examples of each of the paperwork that I need from you here on the blog. If you have any questions please let me know!

Hey my Miss contestants I need you to make sure that you are registered for the Children's Miracle network. You have to be registered or you will be disqualified! Then there is nothing that I can do to help you win...sorry ladies so lets get you registered asap!

Sweets Gala and Auction

What a fun night!! We had an amazing turn out and a total blast! Thank you so much to all of our committee members and contestants and our sponsors. We could not of had this gala without all of you ladies hard work! We as a committee hope to turn this gala into an annual event so we hope you ladies all had fun. Now this week is the fourth of July so we will not be having a workshop until July 13th. These last two workshops are critical! We will be doing choreography and this is very important, not to be missed!
