Plan: If I do become Miss Utah
Outstanding Teen I will make the pageant known. I would do this by going to
local jr. high schools, and high schools so that girls throughout our community
have an opportunity to compete and gain the wonderful experience and confidence
I have gained from this pageant. I would strive to become a good role model to
young girls. Many girls today have role models on television and movies that
are not always to best people to look up to. I would like to change girl’s
opinions on the kind of person they want to become. I will set the example by
having good standards and always doing what is right. I would also love to help
out the cause of my platform. I would like to start a support group for people
who are adopted and mothers who have gave their child up, considering it, or
who have adopted. I also would do everything I can to serve everyone in my
community.
Legacy:
Awareness
of the pageant and promoting my platform—Hope for Widows.
Why
I should be Miss Davis County this year: I should be Miss Davis County because I
think it would be a great and fun experience for me. It would help build more
self confidence in myself. I also feel I would be a good example to girls all
over and I would be the best role model I could for girls everywhere. I would
love to represent our county and I love giving service to others. I would do
everything to my best ability to make our community a better place for
everyone. Being Miss Davis County would be a great honor for me.

Promoting Adoption
Adoption
is an act of charity, an act of faith, and an act of love. God loves all of his
children. He loves children that are poor, disabled, children of every race,
and he wants every one of them to be happy. Every child deserves a loving
family and a suitable home and environment to grow up in. Adoption is a great
way to give every child that opportunity. It also is a wonderful way to give to
those who are unable to have children of their own. Every child would be so
grateful to be put into an amazing home. I know because I am adopted myself. My
birthmother knew she didn’t have the means to provide for me, and she loved me
so much. She loved me enough to find a loving family to take me in and provide
for me. I am so grateful for her love and for the sacrifice she made for me. I
would love to use my title to be a voice for children all around the world and
for family’s who would do anything to have these children and provide knowledge
to the public about the option of adoption and to share my own story with them.
Being adopted is the biggest blessing in my life.
So many women today
who are pregnant and decided they do not want a baby choose abortion. They
choose this for various reasons: whether it is because they cannot provide for
it, or don’t want it. “Adoption is when a baby is grown in the mommy’s heart
not her tummy” So many families would love to have a child but cannot
physically have a baby of their own. If I win I will make adoption better known
to pregnant women the choice they can make to give their children to a caring
family.
The Miss America
Organization could help out this cause by letting more U.S. citizens know about
it, they could help raise money for adoption organizations, and they could also
encourage young single mothers to consider adoption to give their child the gift
of a wonderful life.
I am so very passionate about this cause because it is my
life. If I become Miss Davis County, I will start a support group for people:
either children or adults, who are or have adopted. I would also love to include young mothers who are
considering adoption or already gave her baby up for adoption. I will go around
to schools for pregnant girls and tell them my story and show them how grateful
I am for what my birthmother did for me, what a wonderful life I received thanks
to her. I am eternally grateful to her for everything I have.
