Press Release

New Miss Davis County

Davis County is proud to announce their new 2013 royalty! On August 2nd eleven young women competed for scholarships from Weber State University and scholarships from Davis County as well other prize packages featuring a photography session with award winning photographer Melissa Papaja. The contestants competed in interview, swimsuit/fitness, talent and evening wear.  Miss Bailey Johnson was crowned the new 2013 Miss Davis County. Bailey is from Syracuse, Utah where she attends Weber State University. Her major is Dance Education, which is also her platform. Her goal this year as Miss Davis County is to reach out to all elementary, and secondary schools with her message of how important the arts are in the schools. Bailey is an avid dancer and hopes that she can ignite the love for arts in others that she has found within herself. Bailey is a former Miss Syracuse and is very excited to be able to compete for Miss Utah. Davis County has a great track record with sending title holders to state and winning. The reigning Miss Utah, Ciera Pekarcik is a former Miss Davis County as so is Miss Utah 2012, Kara Arnold.
Bailey's first attendant is Callen Crenshaw and her second attendant is Victoria Pozzuoli.
As part the program, the Miss Davis County Scholarship Pageant also crowned a new Miss Davis County Outstanding Teen, Eliza Smith, who brought down the house with her vocals. Eliza attends Bountiful High School and her platform is Music Therapy. Her first attendant is Madilen Kellogg.
You can meet the new royalty at the Davis County Fair August 14th-17th. If you would like to schedule an appearance for the new royalty please feel free to contact director Steffani King at 801-448-3236http://missdaviscounty.blogspot.com
